Accessibility Statement The Cancer Society of Finland aims to ensure the accessibility of its online services in accordance with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services 306/2019. This accessibility statement concerns the allaboutcancer.fi website. Accessibility status The allaboutcancer.fi website partially meets the requirements of level 2.1 AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Non-compliances and exceptions to the requirements are listed below. Non-accessible content An accessibility assessment was carried out by a third party in September 2020. The shortcomings and areas for improvement identified in the assessment are currently being fixed. The following content is not accessible under the Act on the Provision of Digital Services 306/2019. The following shortcomings were found on the website (non-compliance in brackets): There are contrast shortcomings in the form fields. (1.4.11) The selected menu item is unclear when using a screen reader.. (1.3.1) The title of the search results page states the name of the first search results incorrectly. (2.4.2) The advice service nurse chat is not accessible: the chat element is difficult to find, there is no name label in the message field, the reading order of the elements is unclear and the user does not receive feedback on the nurse’s response. (1.3.1, 3.3.2, 4.1.3) The infographics on the site are not provided in an accessible format. (1.1.1, 1.4.5) When using a mobile screen reader, the second level of the menu does not open. (2.1.1) Links to news sites in the same place do not form a coherent entity. (1.3.1, 2.4.4, 4.1.1) It is not clearly shown how filtering links work. (1.3.1) The H1 title is missing from the page of Cancer magazine. (1.3.1) The label is missing from the forms’ fields. (3.3.2) In the PDF forms (incl. the application form for the adaptation training course) there are shortcomings in the entries at the title levels and in the field labels, as well as in the order of the questions and texts. (1.3.1, 2.4.3) PDF files (incl. the course search guide) have shortcomings in the markups of titles, schedule and markups of texts in different languages. However, courses can be downloaded from the site in an accessible way. (1.3.1, 2.4.3, 3.1.2) Tables are not defined as tables, so they also have headings. (1.3.1) Text equivalents for images are not always defined. (1.1.1) In addition, some links do not work with the Non-Visual Desktop Access (NVDA) screen reader in Chrome unless the user switches to the screen reader form mode at the link. With Firefox, the links work. The same applies to the anchor links that take you to another location within one of the pages of the about cancer pages. The service contains PDF documents published before 23 September 2018, which are not fully accessible. According to the law, such PDFs published before 23 September 2018 do not have to be made accessible retrospectively.
